Sagittarian Greetings to Friends & Clients around the Globe – with great pleasure I send you my Newsletter as we reach the last month of this year!
We are in the last days of November as I write this and approaching that magical time of the year when a distinct presence descends upon us during the “holy-day” season. True to the energies of The Archer, our immediate goals may indeed revolve around focussing upon what gifts we shall purchase for family & friends, which is appropriate before the crazy days building up to Christmas. But Sagittarius is a sign of DIRECTION and this is a good question to ask ourselves and our societies at the close of the Old Year and soon the start of a New Year – what direction are we moving in?
The zodiacal sign of Sagittarius is governed by the planet Jupiter which spends approximately 1 year in each sign. It has been travelling through the Air sign of AQUARIUS since late December last year and leaves this sign to enter into the Water sign of PISCES 29th December this year 2021.
And 1 year from now, late December 2022, it will leave PISCES, the 12th. and last sign of the Zodiac and move into the Fire sign of ARIES, the first sign of the Zodiac, where it shall remain until May 2023.
Astrologers often talk about Jupiter as the planet of Opportunity & Self Expansion, going beyond our known boundaries, so let’s briefly consider what opportunities each of these 3 zodiacal signs can offer – both for us as individuals and the Collective trends in society. Jupiter guides us into the future and motivates future growth & development, especially along idealistic lines.
We seek to grow and improve ourself through humanitarian ideals, intellectual development and daring experimentation.
The inner faith is stimulated through exploring new ideas, being generous, communicating with new people, expanding our network. Our faith can be eccentric, individualistic, unorthodox, unique to oneself.
Jupiter is traditionally the Ruler of Pisces.
We seek to grow and improve ourself through living out our highest ideals, expanding our sympathies and generosity of spirit.
There is the need to be compassionate and sensitive in order to feel faith in oneself.
Openness to grace is based one’s compassion toward all that suffers. A well-developed trust in a higher power.

Jupiter as Ruler of Sagittarius is a “Fire” planet in Aries, a Fire sign, so we can anticipate much enthusiasm for change & new directions.
So transit Jupiter has just under one month’s activity in Aquarius and then at the immediate start of the New Year 2022, it journeys through Pisces for 1-year. Let us take the opportunities being offered to us and respond accordingly. Aim high – see the goal, reach that goal, then see another!
Synchronicity – Jupiter & Egypt
As I started writing this month’s Newsletter I experienced an amazing synchronicity.
Sagittarius is ruled by JUPITER, planet of Education and Travelling. During 2021 I have transit Jupiter 3 times forming the dynamic opposition aspect to my Leo Sun degree – and the final contact is here at the end of November. One of the Jupiterian projects that I have been actively organizing is a return to Egypt with an international group in 2022 both in May and a second pilgrimage in September. Together with my Egyptian Danish Tour Agency, Younes Rejser, we have finalized the practical details during these last days of November.
And almost as a “divine blessing” on these future arrangements, on the 25th. November there was a live broadcast from Egypt, that we didn’t know anything about beforehand, but luckily for us, we got informed just as it was starting.
It was a huge arrangement involving hundreds of participants, dressed in ancient Egyptian attire, with music & lights in a dramatic procession that moved from Luxor Temple to Karnak Temple, organized by the Egyptian government to announce the grand opening of the Avenue of Sphinxes.
In the ancient world there was a paved road stretching for about 2 miles/3 km in length, flanked on both sides by ram-headed Sphinxes that linked the two temples of Luxor and Karnak together. But in modern times this road was in bad need of repair and restoration, plus property had been built over the pathway. Visitors to the temple of Luxor would see part of this Avenue of Sphinxes near the entrance and the same with the gigantic temple complex at Karnak, but no one had ever experienced the Avenue of Sphinxes in its entirety – until now!
It was now the old processional way, this magical bridge between the Temple of Man at Luxor and the Temple of the Gods & Goddesses at Karnak is once again connected – and what an amazing statement this makes for those with the eyes to see.
As a visitor to Egypt for more than 30 years, it is hard to describe my joy at this stupendous event.
I have always conducted group rituals and meditations at the Avenue of Sphinxes in the vicinity of Luxor Temple for the many Scandinavian groups that I have been Tour Leader for, so I know these sculptures well. Indeed, I will share with you a piece of history. Some of you know that I have a background as an artist, a sculptor to be precise, and that at an early age I had exhibitions both in London and New York City.
It was the amazing art & architecture of ancient Egypt that first drew me into contact with this civilization, and in the years that followed I was inspired by how they recreated in artistic form man’s relationship to the Universe. During the 1980s I was teaching in Holland “The 42 Cosmic Laws of Ancient Egypt” and with my Danish wife & myself, we were 42 persons on that weekend. Everyone on the course understood the message and they asked me to lead a Tour to Egypt – and to let me know that they meant it, the following day a big bag of money was placed in front of me as their commitment. And so in December 1989 I took my first group to Egypt and in this lifetime made my first return to my beloved Eternal Egypt, Land of Light.
What is important for me to share with you, the reader, about this trip is that on one of the last evenings in Egypt, the group was in Luxor to do a evening ritual in a special part of the Temple that I am connected with. Normally to do such a “event” isn’t possible but fortune had smiled on me because earlier during the day I had met an Egyptian Tour Guide like myself, who was known locally as “Mr. Karnak”, a very charismatic personality, and he enthusiastically informed me that all the police guardians at Luxor Temple were his friends & family, so he would be present to ensure everything would go smooth.

And so it did – and we were 33 from the group doing the ritual that evening. Part of the process was to create a large “Ankh” or Egyptian sign of Life, and turn the key.
And so we did. Two days later we took the plane from Luxor to Cairo and while in the airport “Mr Karnak” rang me to inform about the sudden and unexpected developments that had taken place in Luxor Temple. Exactly in the area where the group had conducted the ritual, the morning after a group of engineers and temple officials had closed this part of the temple to tourists due to what they said was the pylon columns slightly tilting due to sewerage from local village undermining the foundations upon which these massive stone columns stood. They had to dig down – about 2-3 metres into the sand, to make a correction – but to their total surprise they came across an incredible assortment of large sculptures depicting various gods, goddesses and Pharaohs – 33 to be precise.
The workmanship and quite extraordinary use of stone materials was nothing less than elegant perfection. The gaze of these figures was that of looking into eternity and they were masterpieces, made by master craftsmen.
Today they can be seen at the wonderful New Museum of Luxor – yes – they made a totally new museum just to house these archeological finds.
One could rightly ask, what were these magnificent pieces doing buried in the sand?
The simple answer is that these artworks were “consecrated”, meaning they were actively dedicated to a particular purpose and to “house” a divine principle in form. When that task was complete, they couldn’t just leave the temple area but were buried in the sand – until our group ritual
announced their re-discovery & return to the modern world. This is the magical world view that was the state religion of ancient Eternal Egypt.
My Egyptian friend, Mr. Karnak was naturally very excited about this marvellous archeological find at Luxor Temple – and told me that I had to keep coming back to Egypt with Scandinavian groups and “open” more temples with group rituals!
That Luxor Temple event took place in December 1989, which is 32 years ago this month - And taking groups to Egypt is what I have been doing ever since! Next year it will be the magical 33 vibration and I will celebrate my 70th. year, so 2022 has Egypt as one of my future Sagittarian goals & directions.
Here is a sculpture of the famous heretic Pharaoh Akhenaton, who is one of the strangest and most fascinating individuals of the ancient world. His father was the Sun-King Amenhotep 111 and he was originally Amenhotep 1V before he changed his name to Akhenaton. Amenhotep means “The Great God Amoun or Amen is pleased”.
The area where the Dutch group and I did our ritual is known as “The Court of Amenhotep”. Luxor Temple was built by Amenhotep 111 (also known as Amonhotep or Amenophis) on the site of an earlier sandstone temple as was known as “The southern Harem of Amun”. It was dedicated to the Creator God Amun, his wife Mut and their son, the Moon god Khons.
This area of the temple corresponds to the Sacral Chakra leading to the Solar Plexus center.
In history books you can read about the struggle between the powerful priesthood of Amun and the “One God”, the Sun behind the Sun, the sun disk, the Aton, that was promoted by Amenhotep 1V who changed his
name to reflect his worship of “the spirit of Aton”, Akhn-aton. So radical was the impact of Akhnaton upon Egypt that he totally turned the religious life of the nation upside down and even moved the capital away from Thebes (Luxor) to a completely unknown desert region in the middle of Egypt at Amarna, in an experiment that can only be described as a New Age community. Akhnaton attempted to make the mystic religion a national religion, to abandon the worship of the many visible gods and promote the idea of an invisible god, symbolised by the sun-disc. There is much that is controversial about Pharaoh Akhnaton and everyone has different opinions to his significance to Egyptian history. I too, have my opinion and as a rogue archaeologist & historian, with esoteric insight, I wrote a novel about him, 18 years ago which I entitled, “Akhnaton – Egypt’s Revolutionary Lover”.
This has remained as yet, an unpublished book, yet it was motivated after one of my first trips to the desert city of Amarna and the mystical “City of the Horizon”. It was the realization that Akhnaton understood the Egyptian Temple Landscape and was moving the central focus to the Heart Center of the Kingdom, away from the Sacral centre focus of ancient Thebes.
So rather than just talk about past lives, I decided to include what I intuitively know in the form of a book of fiction. In that book I was present as the figure of Ahmose, one of the main tutors to the young boy-king Akhnaton. In the journey from boyhood to manhood, his marriage to Nefertiti who gave him 6 daughters, and then his love affair with the
Temple singer Merit, who gave him the son Tutankhamon, to the collapse of support for his utopian goals, then to his final suicide witnessed by The Assembly of Temples, the reader is presented with the many “missing pieces” and a quite different version of the life of Akhnaton.
And so to finish this story I would also make mention of the fact that many years before I wrote this historical novel, way back in London during the late 1960s, I actually met Akhnaton’s father, the Pharaoh Amenhotep 111. In this lifetime he was called Denis Stoll, composer & Deputy to the famous British conductor Sir Thomas Beecham. I met Denis at the very first “Mind, Body Spirit Festival “ in London when he was presenting his dance group, “The Ancient Egyptian Temple Dancers” performing to original music that he had faithfully reconstructed from clairaudient memory. It was breath taking and magical. I was inspired to bring the entire group over to Denmark to perform in Copenhagen’s Ny Gypotek Museum, but alas that arrangement didn’t succeed.
As time unfolded Denis would talk about how he and Sir Thomas Beecham, both sensitive clairvoyants, “came from the same star in Orion” and that he heard via inner senses, the authentic Egyptian music that he had composed in this lifetime at his own funeral as Pharaoh Amenhotep 111.
He then went onto to describe the nature of the relationship between father and son, which was quite different from that presented by the Hollywood version of Akhnaton’s life.
There are, of course, many facets to this story, but all I want to convey to my reader is this long Sagittarian journey that leads from one goal to the next in an unbroken chain of continuity. From the synchronicity of me recently completing the practical arrangements for 2 magical pilgrimages to Egypt next year 2022, to witnessing the opening of the Avenue of the Sphinxes,
to group rituals in the Luxor Temple 32 years ago and my karmic relationship to these 2 Pharoah’s, father & son, Amenhotep 11 & Akhnaton, all is connected.
The Egyptian Temple
The idea of the temple – the Holy precinct, the meeting place of God & man – is central to all religions. The temple incorporates within itself most of the ideas that make up our concepts of religion. These include the idea of the centre, place of ritual and initiation, the sacred mountain, the waters of generation or the sacred lake, the trees of life, the pillar joining heaven, earth & the underworld, the path to the innermost sanctuary, sacred geometry, orientation to the four cardinal directions, sacred dance, the Mysteries, Festival celebrations, ideas of Cosmos & Chaos, Creation Myths – all these concepts are universal and eternal.
Throughout all time, the Temple has been the repository of the esoteric traditions.
It was in the temple, and in the temple alone, that the knowledge of the Mysteries could be found. In ancient Egypt it wasn’t just a question of “book learning”, for the temples were called “Houses of Life”, which simply meant that the entire temple complex was the teaching made manifest. The entire temple can be experienced as an energy plan on many levels, and this is the true way of Egyptian teaching, that the many dimensions are available to us, if we raise our awareness to truly see what is around us as we move through the temple structure.
This is how I have learnt by using my eyes, both outer & inner, to see the significance of why certain statues or frescoes are positioned where they are in the overall structure, something that any normal textbook will never point out.
There is the basic law of Magic that all physical substances can be imbued with a certain vitality and that they can hold this vitality like a battery holds its electricity. Thus the various items and decorations in an Egyptian Temple were more than just that - they were imbued with powers. To the inner eye of the sensitive, they would sparkle. The temple itself was always, always, an architectural expression of the universe.
It was Goethe who described architecture as “frozen music”, and we can understand that music is an arrangement of sound waves in time. Similarly, architecture is an arrangement of building lines in space. The different shapes and sizes of buildings have different effects on us, as well as the careful choice of material employed.
For example, these masters of technology used the following stones linked to the 4 Elements:
GRANITE = FIRE
LIMESTONE = WATER
ALABASTER = AIR
SANDSTONE = AIR
Beyond all question, Karnak Temple, just north of Luxor, is the most majestic ruin in the world. It covers about twice the area of St. Peter’s in Rome and in total is about 548 metres (600 yards) long. Like most Egyptian Temples it is organised around a central axis.
Recognize the specific use of compass orientation to enter into any Temple, with its long axis leading to the “Holy of Holies” at the opposite end.
The main entrance into Karnak is via the WEST compass point, yet in Luxor Temple it is through the NORTHERN Gate. At the temple of Horus at Edfu and the Temple of Isis on the island of Philae, both places have a SOUTHERN entrance. The particular type of energy coming into the temple from these different compass points is clearly a major science – yet also relates to the inner purposes of the Temple. This is because of the way that light appears during the different times of the day & night, and throughout the seasons of the year, light that illuminates places within the temple structure, light that illuminates specific places and specific statues placed at these points.
In Christian churches entrance is always through the West leading up to the high altar in the East. Egyptian temples could be orientated to any one of the 360-degrees of the compass. The more universal view is obvious with just that statement.
We need also to take into account that every Egyptian Temple was dedicated to a specific star orientation, or what they would call “The Shining Ones”, in the marriage between “As Above, So Below”, and to accomplish a specific work in the unfolding energy plan or the total temple landscape of Egypt.
When a temple was to be built, the High Priest or Hierophant (“Revealer of the Sacred in the everyday”) who would be connected with its total construction and would ensure what kind of architecture, what kind of art works, sculptures, reliefs, sacred text and paintings would be positioned
where in the temple.
In other words, the builder of the Temple would be “Masters of the Secrets of Heaven”, to give them their true title, and would be experts in a variety of disciplines, including architecture, sacred geometry, astrology & astronomy, the arts, including theatre, dance & ritual work, and symbols & symbolism of course. These illumined souls were specialists and yet they were not, for their intuitional sciences were not isolated disciplines
like our modern education, but intimately linked with each other. They thought and imagined in terms of “wholes” and not fragments.
Karnak is to be experienced as the MACROCOSM or Universe, whereas the Luxor Temple of Man represents the MICROCOSM. The entire plan of the Luxor Temple is rigorously based upon human proportions and designed to symbolically represent man, so that each detail of masonry and symbolic art expresses the ancient Egyptian’s comprehensive knowledge of man’s physical and spiritual anatomy.
The Temple at Luxor is a perfect example of the ancient Egyptian total wisdom. The Temple tells, in stone, in its proportions & harmonies its art & sculpture, the story of the creation of man. It signals his development stage by stage, and it recreates in artistic form man’s relationship to the Universe.
As a general rule, it is safe to say that the planning of such a structure as complex & subtle as Luxor Temple is beyond our present capacities and alien to our way of binary thinking. There is nothing in our own society that remotely corresponds to a Temple of Luxor – so it can be difficult to understand why Egypt should have exercised such infinite pains & genius on what is ultimately a symbolic gesture. It is even more difficult for us to understand the uses to which it was put and the effect it must have had on those exposed to it.
Can we truly grasp the significance of The Hall of 12 Columns in the Holy of Holies which corresponds to the 12 Hours of the Day? Can we appreciate that one line of columns represents the East, symbolizing beginnings and the Western column symbolizes completion – and that it is positioned within the Brow and Head Center of the Temple complex?
This enormous structure, over 800 feet long, was built in stages to a design unique in sacred architecture. Luxor Temple is strictly aligned to 3 separate axes – and yet without exception, every wall, colonnade, hall and sanctuary is rigorously aligned upon one or the other of these axes.
The way in which these 3 axes function and the harmonic considerations that dictated their choice is far too complicated to go into here – yet the shifts in axes reflect the changing angle of the Pole Star throughout the hundreds of years of its construction.
The Egyptian temple was a machine for maintaining & developing divine energy. Temples are “alive” and we need to learn how to see the link between the Macrocosmos (World) and Microcosmos (Man). The temple is the link between the two, and it was the place in which the cosmic energy, the gods came to dwell and radiate its energy to the land & people.
This is a totally alien concept to our so-called modern culture – but we could learn from a culture like the ancient Egyptian which achieved a form of cosmic consciousness that pervaded through several thousand years.
Academic Egyptology is dangerous because it still maintains, in spite of the monumental visual evidence to the contrary, that the people responsible for the pyramids, and the temples of Karnak & Luxor, were less “advanced” than ourselves. The temples, tombs & pyramids are still there for us to study, wonder at and learn from. The symbolist approach allows us to appreciate and to a certain extent, assimilate that distant past, when human beings understood their divine potential, their foreordained role within the grand scheme – and act accordingly.
Eternal Egypt can play the role of exemplar for the future. This is not to say we will someday build temples & pyramids of our own & revert to elaborate mummification rituals – we won’t. But the principles are eternal and the doctrine of the transformation the Soul, the Return to the Source, is as valid now as it was then. It is up to us and to the generations that follow to express these Principles through an Art and a Science geared to a New Era, and to find ways to practice the great doctrine that gives meaning and purpose to our lives.
So back to the beginning. The way leading to the Temple can be an avenue linked with Sphinxes, as in Luxor, or with Solar Rams, like the great Karnak avenue. They represent the physical aspect of creation. Then you reach the massive Pylon Gates at the entrance to these Temples. This represents the actual feet of the temple structure. In many traditions, especially in the East, one takes off the shoes when entering a house or a special place of worship to symbolize the transition from the outer physical world into an inner space. These huge Pylon Gates both join & separate the human world to and from the divine world.
Then one comes to the open-air court surrounded by numerous columns carved & coloured with the different scenes of life with all the emotions of its victories and its defeats. Then as we move to the Hypostile Hall area we experience less light and this space was dedicated to the priests and older students of the Mysteries. Here we experience the forest of papyrus & lotus columns, reaching for the sky and covered over by a roof. This is where light & shadow play together, to express the double role of a bridge between the external and the internal.
The darkest place in the Temple was the Holy of Holies and here was allowed only the Pharaoh and the High Priest/Hierophant with a few of their closet and trusted assistants. In the Luxor Temple this Holy of Holies represents the Head Center and has doorway and openings that correspond to the interior & exterior channels of the head. It is when you visit such a space that many of these amazing correspondences will take on a new meaning for you.
What you can learn from this is that temple construction follows the basic pattern of the 7 energy centres of the human psyche, with the Crown of Universal Spirit always placed at the High Altar or Holy of Holies and the entrance at the Root or Base Chakra symbolised by the Pylon Gates, representing the Earth.
This esoteric tradition and knowledge was followed by European Cathedral builders: Chakra 1, the Root deals with Earth, survival & grounding; Chakra 2, the Sacral deals with emotions, creativity & sexuality, reaching our & embracing life; Chakra 3, the Solar Plexus is Fire, Will and the Power to be; Chakra 4, the Heart, is the element of Air, Love & Compassion and the issue of how best to serve; Chakra 5, the Throat deals with sound & communication, normally reserved for the choir in our European churches; it is also the area for mystical revelation, the eyes turned towards spirit; Chakra 6, the Brow Centre is Light, Unity and Clairvoyance or clear seeing. This is pure light and communion with Spirit. And finally the Crown Chakra at the top of the head, Chakra 7, deals with Pure Spirit, Awareness & Bliss.
Recognizing these energy centres and the significance of their placement in the Temple design will enable you to contact the deeper purpose of any temple. As you can surely appreciate, this is a huge area for self discovery, but now I have pointed you in the right direction – very Sagittarian!
And so, Dear reader, we are soon leaving this Old Year of 2021, with all its past memories and entering into the New Year 2022 with all of its future possibilities.
Being true to Jupiter and the transit Sun moving through Sagittarius until December 21st. is to nurture your future projections. We are challenged to extend ourselves beyond our known boundaries, to enter into the unknown.
When as a Consultant Astrologer, I ask a client what goals they have for themselves & next year, I will often be witness to all the reasons why they can’t do what they wish due to lack of money, bad health, the partner’s total disinterest or some other reason – but that’s not what I asked. A little bit of negative thinking goes a long way. Before you know it, you’re in a maze of limitations, each one reinforcing the other. More people start out with what they CAN’T accomplish than with what they CAN.
One way to jolt the constructed self out of its limiting patterns is to think of possibilities rather than impossibilities.
Speculate – it costs nothing – and it helps to stretch your mind beyond its limits.
Seriously consider this question – ask yourself, what would I do if I had 3 million kroner/pounds/dollars/euros tax-free right now? If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? If you could live wherever you wanted, what city or country would you choose? The point here is developing a habit of expanding your mental horizons.
Lord Buddha once declared: “ATTENTION IS THE PATH OF IMMORTALITY, LACK OF ATTENTION IS THE PATH TO DEATH.”
Those who are attentative do not die, while those who are not attentive are as if already dead.
As we have learnt in our life, denial or avoidance, might be a necessary buffer from the harsh truth of a situation for a while, like aspirin or Valium, a short-term answer – but ultimately it doesn’t work. Some part of the self still keenly feels all the denied pain & conflict and to stay in that stage means cutting oneself off from more and more of life in order to avoid letting in the “disruptive” influence.
Conscious attention shows us the world with ruthless sincerity, stripped of the illusions and the fabrications with which we usually clothe it. Our dreams and nightmares vanish – we are AWAKE.
The alternative to the way of denial is THE WAY OF ATTENTION. Conflict, pain, tension, fear, paradox and confusion are all transformations trying to happen. By accepting them, the transformative process begins. By denying them, we cheat ourselves of transformation. Attention allows the healing magic to work. This is not easy & it doesn’t happen overnight – but it does eventually happen. Conscious attention is a therapeutic tool, a powerful way of dispelling anxieties & obsessions. Energy goes to where our attention is focused – this is the basic Law of the Universe. In order to be accurate and truthful, awareness must be receptive. Instead of producing formulas and applying them to the world as we usually do – we receive the world into ourselves.
What Lord Buddha called “ATTENTION”, the ancient teachings of the world refer to this as “SELF-REMEMBERING”, that is, remembering at all times that we exist and that we are awake. Let that become our direction for our future.

These beautiful ASTRO DICE consist of 3 dice – one for the PLANETS, one for the 12 ZODIAC SIGNS, and one for the 12 HOUSES. Simply stated, the Planets are the “WHAT”, the 12 Signs are the “HOW” and the 12 Houses are the “WHERE”.
Throw the 3 dice together while holding a particular question in mind. When the dice have fallen, note the symbols on the ides showing uppermost.

- Each Workshop is accompanied by study material, especially produced for each Weekend Theme for information & reflection. This is sent as a Word Document or PDF file 2 days before the start of the weekend.
- Each Workshop is recorded on Zoom and sent via Dropbox to your email address. There are 4 sessions of 3 Hours each:
- Saturday morning class from 10-13, afternoon class from 14-17. Sunday repeats the same times i.e. CET (Central European Time).
- You will be sent 4 Zoom invitations for each of the 4 classes a few days before the start of each weekend. Use the password to enter the class.
- Students are expected to maintain a working Journal of their exercises and insights/observations.
- In-between each Workshop students are sent 3 questions that are linked to the previous weekend – which requires a written response sent to your Mentor - to demonstrate understanding of the Astro-Psychological themes.
- After the first 2 Weekends, all students are offered a 1-hour Tutorial, where these written answers/Reports help form the basis of the dialogue. These tutorials are primarily to focus upon the work with the School, to guage your progress and to “smooth out” some of the rough edges so that increased flow can result. There are a total of 3 1-Hour Tutorials included in these 6 Workshops for all students as part of the training program. These Tutorials are recorded on Zoom & sent to you afterwards.

Born in London, August 1952 and living in Scandinavia since 1978, Derek has functioned as a full-time professional Consultant Astrologer, serving clients throughout Scandinavia, UK, Europe & USA for 40 years.
Teacher of the Eternal Wisdom Traditions, trained in PsychoSynthesis (“Psychology with a Soul”) and Art-Therapy (“Liberating Painting Workshops”).

Lunchtime visit to the magnificent Isis Temple on the island of Philae. Explore Elephantine & Temple of Khum.

Leaving Hotel. Morning shopping in Aswan market, visit Perfume shop. Lunch in local restaurant.
Boarding our luxury boat late afternoon in time for sunset. Evening dinner on boat as we sail towards Kom Ombo Temple.
DAY 4 – Monday (Day of the Moon) 30th. MayAfter breakfast, early morning visit to Kom Ombo Temple, a unique temple dedicated to 2 Gods, the Sun god & the Crocodile god. Return to our boat for Lunch and relaxation as we sail towards Edfu.
DAY 5 – Tuesday (Mars Day) 31st. May
Breakfast on our boat and entry during the day into the best preserved temple in Egypt – the Edfu Temple dedicated to the Sun God Horus. A fantastic day that also brings to an end our time with the ship’s crew. Our third and final dinner & celebrations on boat.
DAY 6 – Wednesday (Mercury Day) 1st. June After breakfast we say goodbye to the ship’s crew as our baggage is loaded onto Coach & we make the short drive to Esna Temple. Lunch nearby, then another short drive to Luxor, ancient Thebes, where we shall check-in at the world famous Old Winter Palace Hotel with rooms overlooking the Nile & situated very close to the inspiring Luxor Temple. We have 2 nights in the Hotel.
Evening visit to the Luxor Temple of Man & dinner at local restaurant.
DAY 7 – Thursday (Jupiter Day) 2nd. June
Early morning visit to the Valley of the Kings & the West Bank before the heat of the midday sun. Here we shall visit 3 tombs, including the magnificent Seti tomb. Local lunch followed by short drive to Queen Hatsheput’s wonderful futuristic temple set against the background of the Theban mountains.
Return to Hotel. Evening “Sound & Light” show at Karnak Temple.
DAY 8 – Friday (Venus Day) 3rd. June
Early breakfast, check-out of Hotel and load our baggage onto coach as now drive to Karnak Temple, the world’s biggest Cathedral. 3 hours to explore Karnak and then we drive to nearby airport to make the 2pm afternoon flight to Cairo.
Check-in at Hotel near the Pyramids for 1 night only.
If possible, late afternoon visit to the New Museum of Antiquities.
DAY 9 – Saturday (Saturn Day) 4th. June
Early breakfast and 8am arrival at the incredible Great Pyramid. This is followed by visit to the legendary Sphinx. Local lunch, then drive to Red Pyramid.
We then drive 2½-hours to Anafora, the Coptic Retreat Center and Community where we shall enjoy our final days in Egypt. We shall arrive for a delicious evening vegetarian dinner, followed by Coptic Prayer ceremony.
DAY 10 – Sunday ( Day of the Sun) 5th. June Today is our final full day in Egypt as tomorrow morning we arise very early to meet our flight schedules.
After breakfast free time to wander around and experience the many activities that take place within this Coptic Community. They are a self-supporting farm, growing their own crops. Visit the wonderful shop with it’s many hand-made & original items. Meeting with Bishop Thomas.
Afternoon group sharing and lots of time to digest our adventures from the past days.

DAY 11 – Monday (Day of the Moon) 6th. June 2022 Time for our departure – both Scandinavian & USA group leave for Cairo airport at 5am early morning. It is a 2½ hour journey to the airport and the Scandinavian group has a 10am fight with Egypt Air arriving Copenhagen kl.14.45.
These times allow travellers living in Sweden or Norway to make suitable arrangements for same-day flights to their final destination.
Please note that in Denmark/Scandinavia we arrive home on a public holiday weekend, Monday 6th. June is the Second Pinsedag holiday.
