Is an internationally recognised astrologer & tarot consultant, teacher, lecturer, author, and astro-therapist, grounded in PsychoSynthesis.

Born in London, August 1952 and living in Denmark from 1978-96, where for 15 years he established a pioneering International Center for personal growth & transformation in Copenhagen - Unicorn Center on Frederiksberg.
During 1996-99 Derek was living in Sweden and from the autumn of 1999 moved his main focus of activity back to Copenhagen.
For more than 24 years Derek has travelled throughout Scandinavia and England offering a wide variety of workshops and personal consultations.

Originally started his career as artist and sculptor with exhibitions in both London and New York.
Started to teach himself both Tarot and Astrology at the age of 17. From the time of arrival in Denmark in August 1978, has been working full time in the field of intuitive astrology, combining psychology, Psychosynthesis and psychotherapy together in a living and meaningful wholeness. Derek has a rich experience with the many branches of astrology and this led to the creation of a unique 2-Year education in Scandinavia, "The Unicorn School of Astro-Psychology" in Copenhagen in 1989, Stockholm in 1993 and Bergen 1997. The School was among the first to offer students a professional training in counselling, combining Astrology and modern psychology through the inspiration of PsychoSynthesis. Among its teachers was Tad Mann, (USA) author of "Life-Time Astrology", and his Danish wife LiseLotte Mann.

For 5 years, 1986-91, Derek was a founding member and worked as medical astrologer & therapist at the "Gefion Center" in Hillerød, Denmark, a successful Holistic Health Center, specializing in Aids & Cancer patients, together with doctors and alternative therapists.

During the same period introduced Crowley's Thoth Tarot to many new audiences throughout Scandinavia, via training programs and a monthly radio presentation on Radio Unicorn entitled - The 22 Keys to Self-Mastery. Established the "School for Living Kabbalah" in 1999, where students go through a 1-year training that places the focus upon working with the Tarot cards and their placement on the 22 Pathways of the Tree of Life. One of the organisers for the first Danish and first-ever Scandinavian Tarot Congress in Copenhagen, autumn 2000, and again in November 2002, "Tarotfestivalen - Tarot bag Kunsten - Kunsten bag Tarot".

Derek has been a regular contributor to many magazines, both Scandinavian and international throughout the years, and been a key speaker at international astrology Conferences. Author of 9 privately published books. Currently working on his first historical novel about ancient Egypt: "Akhnaton - Egypt's Revolutionary Lover", to be published in 2003.

Tour organiser and Guide for Scandinavian group travels since 1992 to "Eternal Egypt", pilgrimages to England & Wales "In the Footsteps of Merlyn"; "Exploring Mythical Ireland", where myth, symbol and ritual are combined in a magical adventure moving through the landscape.

Therapeutic 3-Day workshops "Transforming your Inner Dragons" has been offered through Scandinavia with art-therapist Eivor Agdur. In London Derek has worked with Psychosynthesis therapist Marina MacAlpine on such themes as "Mother & Daughter". Other themes include "The Wounded Healer"; "Effective Decision Making"; "The Creative use of the Will & Imagination", etc. plus a variety of Team-Building projects for large and small Scandinavian Companies.

Derek was married in 2000 to Norwegian opera singer Berit Meland in a Celtic inspired wedding, as the May Queen & Champion of the Land. They currently live in Rødovre at Niels Frederiksens Allé 4, DK-2610 Rødovre.
